Rosedale, Toronto

Economy, Cyclists, Walkers

As I sent a pic of Vishnu, who my friend, Tom, happens to love, he sent me an article he thought I would like. First came his brief letter, and then the article “Economy and Cyclist.”

Hi Maharaj (that’s me),
All glories to Vishnu!
Just thought you might find this little article on cyclists and walkers interesting. Hope everything is going well at the temple.
Sincerely,
(Uncle) Tom

Subject: Economy and Cyclists
Sanjay Thakrar, CEO at Euro Exim Bank Ltd. got economists thinking when he said:

A cyclist is a disaster for the country's economy.
- He does not buy the car & does not take car loan
- Does not buy car insurance
- Does not buy Fuel
- Does not send his car for servicing & repairs
- Does not use paid Parking
- Does not become Obese

Yes...andwell, damn it!! Healthy people are not needed for the economy. They do not buy drugs. They do not go to Hospitals & Doctors. They add nothing to the country's GDP.

On the contrary, every new McDonald’s outlet creates at least 30 jobs: 10 Cardiologists, 10 Dentists and 10 weight loss experts, apart from the people working in the McDonald’s outlet.

Choose wisely:
A Cyclist or a McDonald’s?

It’s worth thinking about.

P.S. Walking is even worse. They do not even buy a bicycle.

May the Source be with you!
